Modern masculine flair for inner Melbourne abode
This inner Melbourne home was built in the 1970’s and has undergone various updates and add-ons since then. The new owners called on interior designer Christopher Elliot to furnish the home and plan a major renovation, the main objective of streamlining the home into a modern layout. Chris designed the interiors with a pared back palette so as to amplify rather than compete with the beautiful garden views. The contrasting darker furniture pieces lend a masculine air to the the interiors, with warmth brought in by the timber flooring and lighter upholstery. While Chris designed many pieces and had them custom made, he also sourced furniture from Jardan (Montana sofa, Albert sofa, Oscar armchair), rugs from Roger Lawton Rugs of Distinction and occasional furniture and lamps from Hermon & Hermon.
