Sustainable shed home in Bellbrae
SUSTAINABLE HOMES
Barn style or shed homes are becoming increasingly popular, particularly with home-owners who crave simplicity of structure and materials, possibly as antidote to their busy modern lives.
The retired owners of this large rural property on the rugged surf coast of Victoria said they wanted Wiesebrock Architecture to achieve a ‘triple bottom-line’ with sustainability 3 ways: environmental, social and financial.
A raft of sustainable features were incorporated, with the resulting building minimising its effect on the natural environment and designed in a pavilion style where one pavilion is used by the owners and the other unoccupied unless family and friends are visiting.
