Warm industrial for architects own home in Tel Aviv
It’s always interesting to see what architects come up with when designing their own homes. This home in Tel Aviv (Israel) was designed by Pitsou Kedem with strong horizontal lines of raw concrete and a skylight running the entire length of the the house to allow in plenty of natural light. While the home has a secluded frontage, it opens up completely to the outdoors at the rear, set amongst a grove of eucalyptus trees.
The many concrete surfaces are softened by timber features and colourful furnishings and artworks, giving the space a real sense of owner’s personality.
It would have been very austere with a more minimalist palette, but with the timber and colour added, I think they’ve nailed it. What do you think?
