The owners of this home in Caulfield had a big brief in store for landscape designers Cos Design. The outdoor spaces needed to be visually stunning from every internal vista, compliment the architecture of the home and be geared around entertaining and safe play for children. Also on the wish list was a lap pool, spa and tennis court along with an alfresco dining area and a large lawn for kids to play on.
The landscape integrates perfectly with the architecture, incorporating the warmth of timber battens throughout plus the effective use of cutout mass plantings in the turf and surrounds. A striking pool and spa combination is complemented by a sculptural aloe tree, under planted for softening. The alfresco area features an Electrolux slimline BBQ set into a cantilevered bench top. Black glass mosaic used at the base to match the spa gives the illusion of the bench being suspended in mid-air. With so many landscapes featuring full kitchens these days, its refreshing to see this architecturally stunning simplicity.
